How to cut your own bangs

Difficutly: Super Easy
Time Requirement: 10 minutes

Bangs are a great look for almost any hairstyle.  If you've ever been tempted to pull out that Fiskars and chop away, here a few helpful hints to keep in mind before you make the big cut.  Trimming your own bangs at home can be a great way to maintain your style and hold you over between regular haircuts.  Rembember these tips and you'll be on your way to having the bangs you desire!
  1. Always start with dry hair.  Never cut your bangs wet because hair always shrinks when it dries.
  2. Section off hair that you want for your fringe.  Pull the rest back with a ponytail or clip.
  3. Comb bangs forward.
  4. Using extremely light tension, hold area to be cut in between your index and middle finger.
  5. Hold your scissors vertically, and cut into bangs.  NEVER cut straight across. Less chace of error when cutting vertical.
  6. Point cut until you feel you've accomplished the length you desire.

Using the point-cutting method, you avoid cutting too much or too short. If you're cutting on an impulse, just take a few extra minutes and use these tips.  You'll be glad you did!

This is a great site!
I always end up having to cut my own bangs, as I don't have time to go to the hairdresser, and usually it doesn't turn out that great....but thanks for the advice, now my bangs look much better.
