Difficutly: Super Easy
Time Requirement: 10 minutes
Bangs are a great look for almost any hairstyle. If you've ever been tempted to pull out that Fiskars and chop away, here a few helpful hints to keep in mind before you make the big cut. Trimming your own bangs at home can be a great way to maintain your style and hold you over between regular haircuts. Rembember these tips and you'll be on your way to having the bangs you desire!
- Always start with dry hair. Never cut your bangs wet because hair always shrinks when it dries.
- Section off hair that you want for your fringe. Pull the rest back with a ponytail or clip.
- Comb bangs forward.
- Using extremely light tension, hold area to be cut in between your index and middle finger.
- Hold your scissors vertically, and cut into bangs. NEVER cut straight across. Less chace of error when cutting vertical.
- Point cut until you feel you've accomplished the length you desire.
Using the point-cutting method, you avoid cutting too much or too short. If you're cutting on an impulse, just take a few extra minutes and use these tips. You'll be glad you did!
